Ratliff  & Jentho, a local CPA firm, is seeking a Tax Manager to join our team in our Baytown office.   Additionally, we offer our staff the ability to work a Hybrid Work Model, with flexibility to work from home.

The ideal candidate is a motivated leader who will assist in all areas of the practice and help drive the growth of the firm.  This position also provides work direction and technical guidance to less experienced staff.  The Tax Manager is expected to possess exceptional communication skills allowing for relationship building at all levels and must be able to work independently and in teams to accomplish a goal.  Individuals who thrive will exhibit the following success skills:  collaboration, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, executive presence, growth mindset, and results focus. 

Job Requirements, Skills & Knowledge

• Minimum of 5 years of experience of tax compliance work.
• Must have a CPA license.
• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Researching tax issues to solve problems and develop effective tax planning strategies.
• Must have the ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
• Communicating complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and clients.
• Managing, coaching and developing a team of tax professionals, reviewing work and helping to confirm they have the knowledge, tools and opportunities they need to excel.
• Must be able to work independently.
• This position will work directly with clients, firm partners and team members.
