Required Responsibilities*

• Prepares sundry checks and Member contributions deposits daily. Ensures all recoveries are coded correctly and distributed to the appropriate departments for record keeping. 
• Handles positive pay exceptions from banking sources and processes void requests. Ensures all cleared checks are recorded in the Pool’s financial system. 
• Maintains and tracks fixed assets, distributes asset tags, and prepares month-end journal entries for depreciation, accrual of building and administrative fees, and annual fixed assets roll-forward schedules. 
• Prepares month-end journals for recoveries received for Workers Comp, Property and Liability accounts; reconciles the claims system to GL report. 
• Prepares monthly bank reconciliations for Admin, Payroll, Master, and Claims accounts; reconciles monthly subrogation activity and distributes the monthly subrogation report to the subrogation department/management. 
• Performs recoding for payments and recoveries. 
• Prepares quarterly capital outlay accounts for management review. 
• Oversees the research and resolution of outstanding checks, manages the escheatment process, and ensures compliance with unclaimed property regulations. 
• Serves as a backup for processing credit card transactions. 

Education, Work Experience, Certifications**
Required

• B.A. or B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Years of Experience: 2
• Area of Experience: Accounting or Finance

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation

• Strong business development skills and knowledge of small business operations
• Possess knowledge and understanding of relevant laws, rules, and regulations
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Proficiency in MS Word
• Proficiency in MS Outlook

• Knowledge of Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) accounting standards
• Experience in risk pooling or insurance accounting
